DEAD BODY FOUND AT SAMPA LORRY PARK SCARES RESIDENTS

Fear has gripped residents of Sampa in the Brong Ahafo region, following a dead body that was spotted near the Sampa lorry park in the early hours of Monday.

Some residents who narrated the incident to Gye Nyame FM's Kofi Yeboah Asiamah said they had just arrived at 6AM to start business when they spotted the mortal remains of the man.

"Even though the police has conveyed him to the hospital,  we the traders here are scared for our lives especially when we don't know if he was attacked", a trader revealed.

This incident is the second in about three months, triggering fear and panic in almost everyone in the Jaman north district capital.

The police who identified him as Bawumia Dandebey, a labourer for a local sand winning company at Sampa and in his mid-thirties says the body has been deposited  at the Sampa Government Hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy.

DSP William Gyamfi, the police commander in the district says investigations are ongoing to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of Bawumia.

He, however, advised the inhabitants and commuters to be vigilant in their daily activities, but added that " our preliminary investigations doesn't show he was attacked so everyone should feel free to do their normal business".
