NDC supporters attack Akufo Addo’s house, bodyguards fire warning shots (Photos)

A brief confrontation ensued between some supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and bodyguards protecting the Nima residence of Nana Akufo Addo on Sunday morning.

The supporters were taking part in the party's Sunday mass keep fit exercise , which was to be graced by President Mahama.

According to reports , the confrontation, which lasted for 20 minutes, started when some ‘over excited’ NDC supporters allegedly threw stones into the house of Nana Addo without provocation. His bodyguards, ostensibly sensing danger, allegedly fired warning shots to disperse NDC supporters, who refused to back down and continued pelting stones at the security guards .

Some NPP supporters who heard the news rushed to Akufo Addo's residence to offer 'backup' to his security detail.
It took the brief intervention of the Nima Police to restore calm. The NDC continued with their exercise , which was hugely patronized.
