BUGRI NAABU's BRIBERY ALLEGATIONS ON MAHAMA TERRIBLE LIES - WILLIAMS.

Fred Adomako Williams, a member of the national  communications team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has debunked claims that president John Mahama bribed the Northern Region's  chairman of the opposition New Patriotic party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu.

To him, the NDC does not need the person of Mr Bugri Naabu to expose Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo -Addo as an ethnic bigot.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Mustapha Hamid, spokesperson of Nana Akufo- Addo, flagbearer of the NPP said President John Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim, attempted bribing Bugri Naabu, with two SUVs, GHc3.3million, an additional GHc500,000 so that he would resign from the party and launch an acerbic tribal campaign against the NPP's  flag bearer as a hater of northerners.

The aftermath of the press conference raised millions of eyebrows and was welcomed by series of controversies as to why the president would do that.

But speaking on Sampa - based  Gye Nyame FM on Wednesday, Mr Williams noted that "the NPP had to cook this terrible lies to catch the attention of Ghanaians from the good work the president has done in the country."

According to Fred, president Mahama, from last Monday, has been inaugurating massive projects across the country which includes the Kotokuraba market in Cape Coast and several Community Day Senior High Schools in the Central Region, as part of his campaign tour ,which, he believes shook the NPP to the spine hence the bribery story.

"In their eight years in government, they (the NPP) could not do much as the Mahama - led government is doing. They are so frightened that they have to come out with this... On the said date they quoted in their statement, the president was touring the Eastern Region. All their documents are forged. They know that nobody can seek a court order now to verify the account Bugri Naabu says he deposited the said bribe into".

He could not fathom why the NPP did not report the case to the police to investigate but rather chose to use a press conference to propagate their " bogus" claims. "Is Hamid the mouthpiece of the chairman?...Why is Bugri Naabu or his spokesperson  not talking about the issue?", he quizzed.

He asked all Ghanaians to ignore such orchestrated lies by the NPP and focus on what President Mahama and the NDC government has done over the few years and vote massively for him based on the better Ghana he has promised.
